Meridien PART 3

This is a post from the old blog!

Another view from my room; the swimming pool. It's damn cool : It has slides, bubbles, different depths...sigh.

I wish I could swim.

My aunt said she would pay for dessert too, but the dessert places in the Meridien were closed. So since we went to the cafe at the Hilton, my dad said we would pay ourselves.

After dessert, my dad surprised me with a packet of McD Nuggets to tide me over if I got hungry at night. (When I got hungry at 3am, the nuggest had gone ice cold, so I had to throw them away).

I watched Bones on my laptop till 3.30am. I decided that was enough, and so got into bed, but at 4am, my sister and Rezza both decided to call me. Hmmm. After chatting a while, I finally fell asleep.

I woke up the next day at 9am to have breakfast at Latest Recipe or Prime, but I was told I would have to wait about half an hour before a place was available. My mom said that she would just bring me some from home. I used the time to pack up all my stuff other than my lappy, so when she dropped by, she brought my maid to bring back two of my bags, and then said to reserve a table at Al Nafourah for four for lunch.

I visited the Club Lounge on the 33rd floor for a while, before coming back at around 11.30.

I watched Bones till 12.30 which was my checkout time. I waited in my room till about 12.45 though, since I needed help with my other bags. After dumping them in the car, the family set off for lunch at the restaurant that comes highly reccomended...Al Nafourah.

My aunt had given me a coupon for a free bottle of wine, and free dessert. Both went unused since we were too full for dessert, and we forgot about the wine.

The food was great. I reserved the alcove. There are about 2 or 3 of them in the restaurant, and are extremely cosy and provide much needed privacy and comfort during your meal. These are the pictures, the fountain outside the alcove, and the guy pouring us drinks.

After the amazing lunch, we dropped my dad home before taking my sister back to KL Sentral to grab the bus to Genting where she had an office retreat and lunch at The Olive. We had to take her back home first because she hadn't started packing. "=.=

Overall, Le Meridien was fantastic, surpassing all expectations. I had so much fun, and had such comfort. I've always wanted to stay overnight at a KL hotel and so now I've fulfilled that :) So thanks to my aunt/boss!

Sigh. Contentment.

Meridien PART 2

This is a post from the old blog!

I had to entertain myself, so....

I watched TV so much that I got a headache. During breaks, I would watch my laptop. Finally, no shows I wanted to watch were on, so I resorted to downloads.

Wanna see what I'm watching?

Closer.....

Hehehe...Bones. Go figure.

At around 8.20, my parents rang and said they would pick me up for dinner, since they had to check in on my aunt's house. She was on holiday in Singapore.

We got McD's at the drive-in, and stayed in her house for about an hour.
She's got new puppies!!!!! She's been talking about them for ages, but this was the first time I had seen them myself. I knew their grandfather :D

After that, we went back to the hotel for dessert. The Meridien was full up, so we walked over to the Hilton and had dessert at my favourite cafe. They have the BEST vanilla milkshake I have EVER, EVER had the honour to taste!

Next to the cafe, some Arab dude was making Havana cigars. It's so interesting! I never knew they were made by hand. No wonder their so expensive!

Not that I would know....

Cough.

Smokings bad! Okay, anyway...

Part 3's up next! :)

Meridien PART 1

This is a post from the old blog!

On Friday, I checked into the Le Meridien KL at 2.20pm, after I downed my breakfast and packed my bags. My mummy came with me to help me set up.

As soon as we got into the room my mom made a call thinking it was free. I kept telling her it wasn't but she wouldn't listen (since my dad's always the one who settles the bill). Finally after she got off the phone, I rang "Solutions" for her and they told her what it cost.

Anyway, here's my room! :D

It overlooks Mr.Friends apartments (Bukit Persekutuan), the Muzium Negara and the Lake Gardens. I also had a clear view of the Twin Towers, the rest of KL City, and even HELP and my sisters office at Menara Millenium.

I had Astro : all channels! My mom wanted to watch Bold and the Beautiful, so after it finished at 3.30, we went down to the Conservatory for High Tea.

Normally, its RM50++ per person, but it was part of my present from my aunt, so we didn't have to pay.

First we got Cappucino, with three different yummy finger sandwiches. They came with fried brinjol, carrots, and salad, and it was FANTASTIC!

Next up were the scones, christmas cake, eclair, and another two sweets.

I couldn't finish all the pastries, so I asked for it to be packed. They wanted to send it to my room, but my mom said we'll just take it ourselves. Along the way we stopped at the Starwood Guest table to ask about dinner, and my mom left the bag there. Sniff. It was never recovered!

My mom then left for home, since she had to help my sister get dressed for her Annual Office Ball. Part 2 is next! (3 parts in all).
