Hilary's Dad Jailed Following Birthday-Party Court Battle

Hilary's dad, Bob Duff, was sentenced to 10 days in jail after he was found in contempt of court in Houston on Wednesday (August 28), according to the Houston Chronicle. The Duff parents were in a Harris County court to determine the fate of Hilary's 21st birthday party.

Hilary's mother, Susan Duff, wanted her ex-husband to contribute $25,000 to a birthday party and gift for the young star, the same amount he gave to Haylie, now 23, two years ago. Hilary turns 21 on September 28.

The sisters' mother claimed that the $10,000 her husband pays her in interim support each month is "not even enough to pay my own bills" and that she relies on Hilary, whom Bob's lawyer referred to as her "adult millionaire daughter," for financial support. She added that the actress is "emotionally upset by the abandonment of her father" and deserves "to have some kind of recognition for a young life well-lived."

When asked where her ex would get the money to afford the lavish party and gift she replied, "I know he's a millionaire, and he's got the funds."

During Bob's time on the stand, he agreed that Hilary should have the same gifts as her older sister. He was then ordered to pay $12,500 toward the party.

The real trouble came when he was found in contempt of court for violating an injunction against selling assets without court approval. He was ordered to pay the money he earned from selling stocks last month into a court repository — a total of $367,537.

His lawyer, Robert Piro, plans to file an appeal. When Susan saw her ex-husband being dragged away in handcuffs she was heard saying, "This isn't what I wanted."

Hello, sorry I took so long to update, I still love you all :P I'll be updating soon don't worry, wait why am I writing here?

I'm gonna blog soon. I'm serious! Infact, the next post right, all the pics are uploaded, I just need to write...and the post after that is already done! So so, soon!

But I just wanna say that I'm running for Vice President and Secretary for MoMU - I can't choose between the two! I kinda have this thing with public speaking; if I'm behind a podium I'm fine, but when I'm totally exposed standing in front of people who came only to vote for their friends who happen to be my race-competitors, I tend to quake.

But the whole point is that practice makes perfect, and so...yeah. Joe Nap, 2nd floor Union House 2pm sharp on Friday...come support if you can! :D

Apparently runners have been making people promise to vote for them - as in no free will one "=.= How come I didn't know I could do this? I could have asked everyone then! Haha, O Gosh, I hope I didn't unintentionally take away anyone's free will.

I'm scared. Can you tell? When I'm scared/nervous I ramble. But I really want this and so this has to be done - my fear has to be conquered. And not shown. Stupid leg, stop moving. The worst part is if I lose the first position, I have to get up and do another speech for the 2nd position. Oh my god, embarrasing la...hahaha...and if I lose that one too, I think I'll retreat to the suburbs. Hahaha...I dunno what's wrong with me. I need to grow up, and face my fears.

Omg, what the hell kinda post is this?!

My Birthday (1)

Do you remember my first mamak experience? My family and two family friends drove up to Genting Highlands in 2005 just to have a real Mamak lunch. So we drove an hourish to and fro just for a 45 minute meal.

Well, before leaving, I really wanted to go to Ipoh. One of my grandaunts lives there now so it was a great opportunity. So, my mom and I in one car, and my cousin from Perth and aunt and uncle from the US of A in another, headed to Ipoh one fine day. The journey there took 2.5 hours, and we "hung out" there for 2 hours before heading back for another 150 minutes.

On the way back, things got interesting. My dad hadn't filled up enough petrol, and so the car was indicating that petrol was almost finishing. I had urged my mom to fill up before leaving Ipoh but she had adamantly insisted that my dad had filled up enough. We were carting my aunt and uncle back as well and so tensions were running high since we had passed all petrol stations on the way.

Then, the car indicated that there were only 10km worth of petrol left. When all hope seemed lost, lo and behold we hit Kuala Lumpur, and a newly built petrol shed was waiting us on the left hand side. Phew!

We do strange things sometimes.

My last outing before leaving KL was on the 23rd of July. It also served as my birthday dinner! I held it at Alexis - somewhere I've always wanted to go. I didn't actually tell anyone it was for my birthday - no pressure you see! I hadn't watched the Dark Knight, and every single other person had watched it, so Yee Ping and I met up in the afternoon to catch it. It was brilliant, amazing, just...just...great!

After the movie, we headed to MPH to meet the people who weren't too familiar with The Gardens. Finally, at 6.45 we all reached Alexis just in time for the reservation. It was school friends and college friends in one big jumble, but I was glad most could make it :)

Everyone!

After dinner, the Cempakans left, and after a while of deciding, my college mates and I headed down to Tony Roma's for good old dessert on me! See, I'm generous ;)

It was great having everyone there - It was my final chance to see Tchen Terk and Geebs since they both arrived slightly before I left, and it was a great way to get everyone together to say goodbye, or bring in my 19th year.

YEE PING GOT ME THIS COOK BOOK "FOOD FOR BEGINNERS". HAHAHAHA...I couldn't stop laughing when I unwrapped it - thanks Ping, it was so thoughtful. I also got Patchi chocolates, a Famous Amos gift case among other stuff.

THANKS GUYS!

I finally met Ju, with Seok, the day before Seok was leaving. In fact, it was only because Seok was leaving that we managed to push an outing - I was just recovering from a bout of every illness you can imagine, but I decided to just push forward and go out! So, we met at Jaya One.

Seok and I had to keep ourselves entertained while waiting for the ever late Ju - she really hasn't changed all that much.

After a while, I decided I didn't want to eat there, so Ju drove us slightly up the road for Dim Sum!

The premiering of my Ipod Touch...and the message Ju wrote.

KOALIE! haha...glad you like him Ju :)

And then......

It was great meeting up. Here's to December! :D

Happy birthday to my dear friend VYN! (more on this in posts to come)

I'm breaking this long period of incommunicado silence by doing a tag! As you all know, tags are one of my favourite things :)

1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they got tagged and to ask them to play and read your blog.
