Merdeka Dinner

MoMU.

Obviously since we're the Malaysian Club, Merdeka would be our biggest event of the year right? We started setting up in the afternoon. Only Sarah and I showed up on time at 2 - and that was because we went there together!

I had lunch with Sara (Azadeh) and Keat, who were still a bit fagged out after the pre-exam clubbing. Then Sarah (Quek) and I headed back to Arrow to help with the preparations. The whole committee worked hard and smart, and over pizza and drinks we shifted tables, set up decor, checked sound systems and the works.

It was fully worth it. $35 for a 3 course meal, of which I could not partake cause I was busy running around the whole night. Ok la, nvm la, $35 was worth it to make the night a smashing success.

There were 130ish tickets, and all were sold out. More people wanted to come, but there was just no way we could accomodate them.

Denise.

Audrey.

Audrey is Sarah's sis, and this was the first time I had met her eventhough we had the exact same classes last sem "=.=

Audrey, random, Kevin, Sarah, forgot-his-name (Ezreena's bf), Ezreena

We were serenaded by forgot-his-name2, who won a karaoke competition!

Our MC's, Jay Son and Sarah :

Outgoing President Su Ann!

Justin. He was introducing :

Scene at the Movies! The drummer is my senior from Cempaka, and he actually recognised me. Hahaha...they're no.1 on the Malaysian Charts.

Old and new commitee :) Awesome people!

New President : Sherlyn

The prizes. Note the Wii :P

Ok. I had to dance. Omg. I was so sick, that I shivered at any change in temperature, and I even fainted. But I had to practice, every night. And we did good :) It was a dance off between the girls and the guys. And we all know who won :)

Albert, forgot-his-name3, Choon Kye.

OMG. What is wrong with me? This is the effect of no sleep. I can't even remember people's names "=.= Anyway, it was a roaring success :) Everyone walked away full and happy, other than me, who was famished. Hahaha. But nvm, since I live right above the hall, I just went up and had my Indomee :D YUM!

Unwritten

You know, when I was still back in KL doing A Levels, and my friends were overseas I swore to do something. I swore the same thing when I was on my 8 month break before uni, and most of my friends had left to the UK. :

I would UPDATE MY BLOG FREQUENTLY! Seriously, everyone who has gone overseas has just neglected their babies. Other than Seok Mei, which really befuddles me, cause she's a Med student, and has limited bandwidth. I have 12 hours a week, and have unlimited internet usage, yet I never find time to update.

My blog is no longer personal. It seems that all I update about is outings. I don't even update about ALL my outings anymore, cause by the time I have the blogging bug there are too many to list down. Not trying to brag here, but it's just really annoying. My blog used to be of a certain standard, and now it's just gone right down the drain to join lala's, ah bengs and whoever else have blogs that people diss :P

Decisions about accomodation for next year have to be made. I'm scared, confused. I don't know what to do. There are so many options, yet so few at the same time. I want to do stuff, but I don't want to do them at the same time. I don't know if that makes sense. I guess I have to ask God for his guidance, and just trust him to help me. Since I no longer have a prospective roommate, it's a bit harder. But...things will work out :)

Since I've to come to Melbourne, I can honestly say I've grown as an individual. I've picked up a bad habit (money oh gosh, where have you gone?), but I've strengthened so many characteristics that I never knew I possessed. I've gone through hell, and I've come out unscathed. I've had roller coaster after roller coaster of emotions, but I'm even stronger now. I had divine intervention - that's the only way I think I made it through. But it all worked out for the best. But I still need more. I need more company. I need people I can just hang out with. I see so many people with their groups of friends. They experience life together, they live out their lives joyously together.

People think I have a lot of friends, but they're all singular. I don't have a group of my own. And since I'm used to having that from school and college, it definitely affects me. I love making new friends, and I love meeting new people. Half the people who's blogs I read, I wanna get to know them personally. But life doesn't work that way. I don't know how I became a person that likes to socialise when my parents aren't really so "gung ho" about making an effort to know a lot of people. You may know a lot of people, but that's not enough for me. I want to actually be able to call those people my friends. I guess that's just me.

I don't know why this post is so random. Anything that pops into my mind is coming pouring out. I'm content. At this moment, there are bad things, but there are good things. There are desires, but there is satisfaction as well. At least I'm not emo :D

What did I start this post about again?

Oh yah, blogging regularly.

I AM GONNA UPDATE REGULARLY :D

Wednesday, October 8

Exhausted.

I need a break.

I need to sleep.

I need more money. I need to spend less money.

I need security.

I need you.

Okie dokes, off to Safeway!

Thursday, October 2

Anas is in town! Part 2

Oh yah, we also dropped off Anas at Melb Central, and took 2 pics there :)

Sara & I

OK OK , part 2 ;)

I realised that Anas was leaving soon and so I planned to meet up with her for dinner. She was only free on Friday and that was the day of my (and by my, I mean Seven's) Arabian Night event. But hey, it's Anas right? :)

We went to Stalactites! I've always wanted to go, and it did not disappoint.

For afters, Sara took us to this new place she frequented! It's really cool - their famous drink is their Chili Hot Chocolate, and they have a scale of how spicy you want it to be. If you have more than level 15, your name goes up on the menu board for all to see. Zhen's the leader with 180-something! Or is it 200+ now?

My 20 was quite spicy :(

Bye Anas! Hope you had a great trip :)

And then...Vyn and I headed to Se7en. More on that later :)

Anas is in town! Part 1

This post was written almost a month ago :) :

I forgot my phone, so I had to come back home to get it : which means I'm missing Global Pol! And my 50% essay has just come out "=.= Good going Ruwan.

I'm watching Wicked in October :D And I'm going to Donvale this weekend - unfortunately that means I'm missing Anselm's birthday, and Ching and I have less time to prepare for our BPA presentation. Sigh. Bad timing, but can't be helped!

I'm hoping to go travelling with friends for a few days for my 2 week break. My parents wanted me back in KL, but I cited that excuse. But nothing's planned yet, so I'm getting worried :(

I need to cut my hair, but I wanna try something diff. So how?

______________________________________________________________________

I'm back to updating regularly huh? There's so much work to do though - I dunno how to keep up.

Anas was in Melbourne for a month or so, and when I met her in KL, I insisted that we meet up so that I could take her to Koko Black! She's studying in Germany, and so was on a looooonnnggg break. She contacted me once she got to Melbourne, and she wanted to meet some Cempakans - we met up for lunch at Pancake Parlour!

my healthy lunch : pancake and ice cream

Sara, Harvey, Anas, Me & Vyn

The picture everyone who goes to Pancake Parlour takes :

I made good on my Koko Black word. We were close to the Bourke Street one, and I had never been to that branch, so we decided to head there. It was actually quite a nice shop though smaller than the usual one at Lygon! :)

If you're in Koko Black for the first time, there's really only one thing you can have : Iced Chocolate!

Everyone finished their drinks except for me! I ate a heavy lunch ok? :( Vyn as usual was scolding me for wasting my food..hahaha

We went to Australian on Collins so that Anas and Sara could use the toilet. Meanwhile, Vyn and I "camwhored". And I also dared her to do the last picture :P

Vyn returned the challenge hard and fast :

Arrhh...hahaha :P Before heading off to check out Tiffany & Co, I took a pic with the visiting celeb!

And then, there was part 2!

Stress.

Make me throw my hands in the ayer.
