Near Death Experiences

Three of my family members have escaped death in the past 2 days.

My mom had gone to her hair dresser's apartments in Colombo Town the day before she was scheduled to return. The hair dresser wanted to do a full treatment, but my mom told her to leave it at the face and wrap it up because she was tired. She then went down and waited for the driver to pick her up. She got into the car and sped off, and when she was 3 minutes away, a bomb blast rippled through the top floors of the condos. If she had stayed longer she wouldn't be back.

Back here, today, my dad and I were on the way to the airport speeding along the highway. At one point there was a fork in the road where other cars joined the main highway. This P license guy who was talking on the phone and driving with one hand couldn't make the turn at the speed he was driving at, lost control of his car, and came hurtling right at us. My dad threw the wheel to the right and accelerated like mad, and we managed to miss the car by a fraction. Once the stupid idiot had regained control, he just sped off as if nothing had happened.

So thank God for keeping us safe and sound, and for reuniting all of us.

I drove back, and minus one scare when I forgot to put my signal on, it was a smooth ride :)
