In the middle of writing a happy go lucky post, I suddenly stopped, and I realised something.
I'm scared.

Getting my way
Somehow or other, I manage to get what I need.
Remember I've been told that I'll be taking my old camera to Melbourne, not the one I bought this year? Well...it appears that the old camera is not compatible with my Vista!

SOOOOO....
After some door slamming (on my part), shouting (on my part) and sad angry faces (on my part), my mom said I can take the new cam after she goes to Sydney :D I couldn't be happier! I love that cam!

I have my travel itinerary as of today. The Sydney trip is still shaky. Everything says "GO!", but what if I have assignments or tests soon after? I have to buy the ticket now, otherwise I'll have to pay double. Someone help! How to find out if there are exams after Easter for Commerce?!
18th Feb - Leave and arrive in Melbourne.
21st Feb - Move into apartment
7th March - Mom leaves for Sydney
21st March - Leave for Sydney
28th March - Return to Melbourne
21st (?) June - Leave and arrive in KL
25th July - Leave KL
26th July - Arrive in Melbourne

Pursuit of Sneakers
I've been looking for shoes lately; I need a good one for walking in Melbourne. I know there's a perfectly functioning tram station directly in front of my building, but hey, might as well have a bit of exercise right?
I actually found the PERFECT shoe. It was the first (and only) shoe I looked at when I entered the store. It was at the Adidas Factory Outlet store, which is even more surprising since I usually am biased toNike.
It was the special edition Muhammad Ali shoe. It was so goddamn comfortable. My feet were in heaven. I could walk 500 miles in those soft leather shoes and still not care. The colour was really unique as well.
My mom said if I wanted, I could buy them. Then a little while later, she said "You better not buy it. When you go to Melbourne, they might just see the "Muhammad" and think you're trying to convert people". Well, actually she said the T word, but I don't want to get into trouble!
So fine. I couldn't be bothered arguing, especially since she had just brought me some tshirts back from overseas.
A month later, today, I went to Nike Mid Valley. I spotted the Ronaldinho shoe (with his "signature" and the number 10 written casually on the side, and a really interesting velcro flap that protected your laces from being stepped on : I badly need that). My mom agreed that they were nice, and all I could see was "Ronaldinho", so we asked for my size (10.5-11).
Only size 12 was left! AAAHHH...I tried them on anyway, and tried to act like they were perfectly fine, but my mom said no! I also tried the other autographed one, this one without the flap, but the sole was not suitable for walking.
After a couple of other shoes, I bought one EXACTLY like the Ronaldinho one, but without his signature ;( What's more, I bought a size 12. Because the "shape" of the shoe was different from the original one I wanted, I needed a bigger one.
It was RM20 cheaper, so that means they think his signature is only worth RM20...hmmm...Oh, and it's brown, and is leather! Nice to walk in, but definitely not as plush as the Ali one.
I also bought some socks, and came home :) OH! I've got my credit card! Visa Gold :) YAY! It's going to be the least used credit card ever issued though. I really don't see the point of credit cards. If you have the cash, buy. If you don't, why bother?
Right?
See, I'm so mature!
Off to break in my new shoes! :D

20 Questions
First of all, I would like to announce that...
MAROON 5'S GOING TO MELBOURNE on the 30th of March! It's the last day of Easter holidays! I don't know if my parents are gonna approve of me going so soon after starting uni, but SO WHAT?! This makes up for missing Hilary's concert (by a mere 2 weeks)! Who's going with me?! :D It's quite near Melbourne Uni too!
I wouldn't have even known if I hadn't read PKaye's blog and found out they were going to Adelaide. So thank you to PKaye! We both should find a way to go! Hehehe
___________________________________________________________________
Also on the list of surprises is a tag by Yi Ping! Thanks :) I love tags! And this is officially the first tag of my new blog!
I corrected the English of the questions though *sheepish grin*
1. What was your dream during your childhood?
I wanted to find out that I was actually the son of a mythical Greek God. Preferably Zeus. OH OH, and I also wanted to become famous!
2. Do you like rainy days or sunny days? Why?
Sunny days. Doesn't everything seem so much more easy going and clear when it's bright out? When it's a rainy day, I feel so bored and depressed and my body clock starts asking questions like "Why is it dark in the morning? That's just wrong. I'm confused. Mummy, help! This is too much to take!"
3. Which colour do you like better? Black or White?
Since I think I like both equally, I'll take a survey. Looking around at my room, I have 9 black things, and a gazillion white ones, so yeah.
4. Who would you marry?
A girl who's caring, carries herself well, has ambition, and is intelligent, fun and outgoing. Or Hilary Duff.
5. Where do you want to go most? Why?
England. Growing up, as a child I read many books by British authors, and so I have this painted picture of England in my mind's eye. I want to experience it for myself. And besides, I'll feel even closer to the realm of Harry Potter, and they have fantastic chocolate! And of course, friends are there :)
6. Which part of yourself do you love the most?
My heart. I can love unconditionally, and forgive instantaneously. However, this also sometimes makes it the part I hate most. In those rare times, my brain is my baby :)
7. When you encounter a sad moment, what do you do?
It depends. If I walk in on a sad moment between two people, I'll just pretend I'm looking for something, and walk right back out. If I'm in the sad moment, I'll think about it for a while, and then leave it in my past.
8. What are you afraid of losing the most?
Health, family and friends.
9. If you met someone you love, would you confess to him/her? Or just keep it secret, observing?
It depends. If I think I have a shot, I'll confess. If not, I'll lie in wait. But then again, I'm talking about crushes. If it was true love (as in, will you marry me?) I'll go for it.
10. List out 3 good points of the one who tagged you.
I wouldn't really know for sure, but in my opinion, Yi Ping is...hardworking, dedicated and adventurous.
11. What are the requirements that you wish for your other half?
Read point 4. She must also get along with friends and family, and be able to make me laugh (which is basically not hard at all!).
12. Up to now, what is the moment you regret most?
Causing unecessary hurt during my final school year.
13. Which type of person do you hate most?
- people who think that they can get away with everything. For example, if you have a meet up on Saturday, the day before the meet up they'll call and say "oh, sorry, I've decided to go out with other friends...not my fault! You only told me a week ago, you should tell me 5 months in advance!!!"
- backstabbers, or people who only use you when they need something.
14. What is your ambition?
Oh wow. I am the vessel of ambition. I want to make partner in my 30's. I want to found a conglomerate, become a billionaire. I want to have a sprawling yet homely house, with 9 dogs, 1 cat, one person to take care of them, up to 4 kids, a supporting wife and mother, and 6 cars to drive around in. OH OH, and become famous enough to present at the Grammy's!
15. Would you rather be someone else at this very moment?
No. Oh wait. Yes! Someone who is able to watch Maroon 5 and Hilary in Melbourne!
16. If you can have 2 dreams to come true, what would it be?
To make a load of cash and have a big happy family.
And what the heck...I'll go for it...to become a world famous singer! :D and actor. and TV personality. What else is there again?
17. What do you think is most important in your life?
I'm not lying : Friends and family. And a bit of cash would be nice.
18. Who's your favourite cartoon character?
Bugs Bunny, and Winnie the Pooh tie!
19. What will you do if the world ends tomorrow?
Meet all the stars I want, and get their autographs. I'll probably have to force them since they'll be trying to do whatever they would answer to the above question.
20. The most worthwhile decision you've ever made in your life so far?
To go to HELP, and not Taylors, or Trinity College :) Handsdown. It completely rejuvinated the Ruwan in me, and helped me grow and mature into someone I can be proud of.

I know this post is extremely overdue, but Pearly finally managed to send me the ONE PICTURE yesterday. So thank you to her!
I was one of the extremely lucky people to be invited to Emy's annual New Years Eve party! I could only stay till 10.30 though, because I had watch night service at church, from 11 - 1.30.
The gracious hostess :

It was a lot of fun, but I didn't take any pictures. (Yeah, I know! Me? Not take pictures of every random little thing?) The table and subtly placed decor were really nicely and carefully laid out. Emy's family really went all out. I saw her mom sink wearily into the kitchen chair after heaving a sigh during the middle of the dinner. Hehehe.
So thanks aunty and uncle Mun!

The food was really really really good. The desserts especially. Almost everything was made by the Mun clan. No pictures, sorry!
At the beginning of the party, the early birds played "Black Magic". I was the last to figure it out. I'm blaming that on the fact that I fell prey to the lure of the Chocolate Fountain, and so missed the round during which everyone else discovered the secret of the game! :(

Qu trying to make Lixia guess the object.
Pearly had to leave early, and since this was her final time seeing us before returning to the UK, she wanted a picture of the representing Settedicians.

In between, I accompanied Brigitte to pick up Siew See, because she wasn't too sure of the way. On the way back, (mostly due to the SiewC Jinx) we took wrong turnings 4 times!
Church was good too; they have a new, modern pastor. He cracked a lot of jokes, and though the message was longer than usual, it felt shorter. I met a lot of relatives and family friends that I haven't seen in a long time, and met my cousins from Australia for the first time in a year or so as well.
As the fireworks shot up into the sky, and moments of silent reflection was taking place, I whipped out my phone and started smsing the few people I felt worthy enough to use my RM2 balance on. Most of them didn't receive the messages in the end, because Maxis refused to send them, but when I checked my outbox they were gone!
Oh well...happy belated new year! :D

Fixing Faces and Broad Smiles
I haven't been out with friends for 17 days, and the last time I met any of them was exactly 2 weeks ago. I have rarely managed to keep to myself for this long, and one would expect me to get angsty or restless, but the last 2 weeks have been very busy and time consuming, so I'm glad! However, I decided that I should start going on my rounds; seeing friends before I leave. I didn't expect to start so soon, but Manpreet invited me out, and who can turn down such a privilege?
Jon, Manpreet and I met at 1pm outside MPH. We got our tickets for "Mad Money". The counter person kept screwing up my booking number, by putting my mobile number in the reservation box and vice versa. He got lucky on his 8th try. He then picked the wrong movie, and so had to try two more times. "=.=
Then, embarrassment set in. After all that trouble, when Jon saw that the back row was empty, he decided that he wanted to line up at the regular counters, so we wouldn't need to pay the RM1 booking fee! Manpreet and I were busy hiding ourselves behind Jon when we lined up again.
Manpreet belanja'd us the tickets! THANKS!
On the way down met Jia Jing and Vivien. We waited for them to get their tickets for "In the Name of the King", and then headed down to D'lish for our lunch.
Having heard nothing but complaints about the food, I ordered the most familiar thing on the menu; Duck Confit Oglio. Not really good. It's put me off Duck Confit for a while. The other two had a salad, Jon had Caesar Salad and Manpreet had a pie. Such adventurous eaters : yet they still weigh more than me!
After JJ and Viv left, the three of us caught up and chatted, and then went for our movie after which we (or rather Jon and I) had dessert. Tiramisu and Cappuccino something. Both were good, but of course Tiramisu won the battle yet again. It was Jon's first time at the Gardens, and so he was eager to see the "fantastic panoramic views" that Itallianies had to offer.

Try as I may, we couldn't take a group picture, cause apparently when there are 3 people in a picture, the middle person will die. I offered to be the centrepiece, but Manpreet loves me too much! :D I made Jon look so good in the pictures I took of them, but my smile is so huge in mine! When he was taking it, I asked him if my smile was okay and he said it was fine. HMPH!
At 5, they both left, and I was promptly joined by Yee Ping. We headed over to Shing Yun's house, and after I practiced my piano, we headed off to BSC. We planned to eat at Alexis, but Brigitte joined us and wanted to go to Chili's.
At 9, after buying some biscuits at Cold Storage, I headed back home!
THE BEST PART.
The cab ride to Shing Yun's house was funny.
Me : Can we go to BSC? Oh sorry, I mean, a house next to BSC.
Driver : *grunts*
The car reeked of cigarettes, and the driver was a plump grumpy Malay man. Ping and I chatted the whole way, and then suddenly...
Me : I think he's on the wrong side of the road...how's he gonna turn?
Driver : Is the house located on the right hand side or the left hand side of the road? :)
Me : *mouth falls open*
When I got into the cab, I presumed that he probably had the most basic English language skills. The way he spoke, his intonation, his manner of speaking, his diction, his voice. Gosh. He didn't have an accent, but he had crisp, smooth and succinct Queen's English. I was so stunned, I could barely form complete sentences after he opened his mouth. After stumbling out of the car, Ping and I exchanged a shocked glance and headed up to the door.
Oh, we walked to BSC from Shing Yun's house, and saw her neighbour's dogs. There are 9 of them : 2 Afghan Hounds, 1 Poodle, 2 Chow Chows, 1 Chihuahua...the rest I didn't see. The Afghan's are so beautiful. Definitely one of my ten future dogs :)

Had a wonderful time catching up with friends. Congrats Manpreet, and best of luck for UNSW! If I don't see you before the 18th, I'll see you when I fly down to Sydney for Easter! And thanks so much for the movie :)
Jon has always been brilliant in Bio, and always craved becoming a pilot. I, meanwhile, think he would have made an exceptionally bright doctor! He has never done anything but science before. And now, he's doing my course in Nottingham "=.=
I've nothing to say except...Jon, don't "fix" your face, and don't wait one whole year to meet up again!

Things I Hate
I think I can start my own fashion! Wearing my heart on my sleeve! - Got the idea for this sentence from the song that's playing on my blog right now :)
I've always been very open with my feelings; I'm not a guarded person. If a friend asks, I'll tell them exactly what I feel. I'm not brash, I just don't believe in all this secrecy. While I know what to keep to myself, it's only to avoid the unnecessary discord it may cause.
Anyway, that statement above has NOTHING to do with what I'm gonna blog about :) It's just something I've always thought about, and after hearing the song I decided to immortalise my opinion in Font!
I've been on a break for 3 days, largely due to the 2 drafts I have, which require pictures from two dilly-dallying camera-bearing people.
I do admit that I'm not the only one who is procrastinating; I have a Q&A post coming up - an idea from Sherryn's blog - and a MeMe of sorts - courtesy of Emy.
Anyway, let's get down to my post! : Two Things I Hate!
I'm sure I have an intense dislike of more than the following two food stuff, but don't get me started!
The first is, (as many know) BANANAS! Gross. If I even smell those yellow phallic abhorrent abominations of Mother Nature, I immediately get a vomit inducing taste at the back of my throat.
I have never ever eaten a banana. Okay, fine, that's an exaggeration. How would I know if I hated bananas if I never ate any? So fine, when I was around 5 I ate my first small slice of banana. I immediately choked and threw it away. The urge to puke took half an hour or so to push back to wherever it came from.
I only ate a banana one more time after that, when I was about 10. My mom had started a fruit-frenzy diet and forced her poor writhing son to eat 3 cut slices of banana. It was pure torture! Eegad! Now you know how to blackmail me into doing something huh?
My second great dislike is Toast! Whenever I read someone talking about how toasty their bed is, I laugh at the irony. I like toasty beds, but I hate toast. I don't know how someone could make that tasteless charred carbohydrate into something so wonderful. I've only eaten toast once, when I was on holiday and had an upset stomach. It was so bland I could barely eat half.
So yeah. I don't know why I even bothered typing that down, but hey. At least you know something more about me right?
Here are another two random little notes of interest for you. My best online friends are Wikipedia and Answers.com (which helps me check up on new words which I may want to use), and I leave for Australia in 28 days.
Till our next catching up tryst :)
I've always been very open with my feelings; I'm not a guarded person. If a friend asks, I'll tell them exactly what I feel. I'm not brash, I just don't believe in all this secrecy. While I know what to keep to myself, it's only to avoid the unnecessary discord it may cause.

Duff "caught" lip-synching
EDIT TO KEEP IN MIND : Fans in the front row heard her shout the greeting!
I'm going to copy what I wrote at Wikipedia :)
However, the mike was only off for the part where she shouted out "What's up Monterrey", and so did not affect the real performance.
For the video that started the controversy, click here. It's right at the beginning, so you won't have to watch the whole performance, but she's performing my favourite song off her album. Her UK and US tours were great, this one was just average. But hey, it's just Mexico! :P
While Hil says that she did not pull an Ashlee, her camp says the microphone was set to mute for just a few moments, and was quickly fixed, which explains why her voice started up.
She makes three more stops in Mexico before moving on to Brazil and Australia.
I was watching this meet and greet video of Hil and her fans in Mexico, and all the guys were wrapping their arms around her like she was a puppet. She's so small! But she made sure they got their pictures by asking their friends or parents "Did you get the picture?".
But, she should wear longer pants "=.=

"In January 2008, a video of Duff apparently lip-synching at her concert in Monterrey, Mexico surfaced online. Duff's representative spoke out about the incident saying "She was not lip-synching. It was faulty equipment. There was no sound coming out, but she was singing". He also added that she was not using her regular sound equipment, but locally provided equipment and that her microphone was inadvertently set on mute for the first few minutes of the performance."

Prison Break : January 14
Greys Anatomy : January 10
Ugly Betty : January 10, 17, 24
Desperate Housewives : January 6
So get your Utorrents flaring and get with the program!

The Moral Compass
I'm changing my song again - this time to Ever Ever After by Carrie Underwood. Sure, it's not my usual kind of song choice, but I really liked the way they tied the video in with the movie it promotes.
It starts off like Enchanted, with Carrie in cartoon form. She dives into the well and lands on Earth, and proceeds to bring "love and joy" into other people's hearts along the busy New York City street. She even samples "True Loves Kiss" at the ending of the song.
I'm supposed to change the song only once a week, but what's life without breaking out of the box a bit eh?
I just realised how "safe" my life must be if I think changing a song more than once a week is being wild!
I have a confession to make.
I have an addiction.
I've always felt I have one vexing little flaw in my otherwise self satisfying character. I can never stay angry at anyone for more than ten minutes. The drug of anger just dances around me, just out of reach of my long outstretched fingers; taunting me. I think I have a craving for that rush of adrenalin, and fiery passion that courses through my veins and rushes to my brain.
It takes a lot of effort on someone's part to make me blow a fuse. I think it can even be a tad frustrating, because while you've worked yourself up to a frenzy I'll still be laughing happily and jabbering about Nigeria's ever increasing inflation rate.
I'm going to go off track for a bit, to explain the source of my 3 minutes of wonderful discourse of anger last night.
I am very proud to say that I have a wonderful superpower : I can judge a person accurately the moment I meet them. So, since I met this friend of mine I've had a few underlying issues regarding their character. I didn't say anything however, because I felt it would cause unnecessary problems.
However, true colours have a nasty habit of bursting through, and sometimes, while colourful, they can be quite ugly. I had my bit of fun and extreme pleasure airing my feelings and aggrieves, and while I didn't manage to completely reach even half my scalding potential, it was a good break from my usual "nice guy" personality.
But merely 2 minutes after the spectacle ended, my anger faded away, only to be replaced with a deep nonchalance. It's so annoying when something you cherish and caress lovingly is snatched away from you in a matter of seconds and replaced with cold bland emptiness.
So, yesterday I fought with a friend from college. Ten minutes later, I just didn't care about it. Infact, as of today, I only have deep set feelings of hostility towards one person. This perception of mine has lasted 6 years, and worryingly hasn't showed any sign of decreasing. It's funny, because most others who inflicted emotional damage on me were a lot closer to me, but they haven't succeeded in making even the relatively slightest dent on my armour like Mr Wong has.
Why am I so nice? Seriously! Don't you just see the niceness sparkling in my eyes every time you see me?
One another less than admirable flaw I have is that I stay true to this theory : Knowledge is power; never level the playing field.
But, that's another story, for another time zone! :) Tata!

Blimey!
I'm quite sure that the boundaries of my vocabulary have expanded more in the last 2 weeks than it has for the past 17 years. And I have Chloe Sullivan, and Lex and Lionel Luthor to thank for that. Now, if I just could hone my writing skills to the level of perfection that Chloe has attained, I'll be the happiest kid in the world!

What else have I learnt? Clark Kent is an annoying himbo, that's what!
Yesterday, I went to visit my cousins from Australia again. The younger guy wanted to go to Digital Mall, and since I needed to buy a USB for my Laptop Cooler (which I bought off Wei Xiong) I said I would tag along. After about an hour, he finally picked out 5 games that he thought he would like. Since the offer enabled him to get one free game, he told me to pick out what I wanted.
Once he paid, I tossed him the money for my CD and he refused to take the cash! He grabbed my wallet and shoved the RM10 inside and took off. For the next 10 minutes, an elaborate game of cat and mouse took place, until I decided to give up.
Now, I wasn't pitying him, 'cause he's not exactly starved for cash. His dad owns one of the three major cleaning companies in Melbourne. All 4 kids go to private school, which costs AUS$13,000 a year, per child! So, why didn't I just let him pay?
He's 15! Younger than me! And eventhough he kept saying "It's only 3 Aussy dollars!", I still HAD to pay for it.
Finally, just as I was about to leave for dinner at around 9pm, I threw the note at him and fled. He gave me a cursory glare, and then gave the money to his sister. "=.=
Later, the game didn't work.
Great.

Decisions
As many of you know, I've been watching Smallville religiously for the past 14 days. An average of 8 episodes a day later, I watched Episode 9, Season 5. It was a Christmas episode.
Not only did the episode drag me back into the mood of the Christmas season, but it touched my heart and struck a chord with my soul. It is by far my favourite episode of the entire show, and the message and twist in plots make it one of my favourite episodes of ANY series.
It starts of with Lex Luthor being shot by robbers, and in his coma his dead mother shows him his future. He has married Lana, escaped the clutches of the claws of his father by turning his back on his inheritance, and has a smart wonderful kid to boot. While he now has a budget to buy a Christmas tree, he has never been happier in his life. He is married to the love of his life, even though just 7 years ago she hated him, and was linked to Clark. Jonathan Kent has become Senator, and announces at his Christmas party that Lex has been given the Kansas Humanitarian Award for his work of housing the poor.
Lex is on top of the world. His mother says this is the result of his decision seven years ago when he woke up from his coma, to drop out of the race for Senator and let Jonathan Kent win. Then, as if his life can't get any better, Lana gives birth to their second child on Christmas day.
Everything is fine and jolly, and then the plot twist tightens, when suddenly Lana hemorrhages. The only way to save her is to fly her to Metropolis. Lex rushes to his father's house to beg for the family jet, but Lionel says No. He turned his back on his family to live a free and happy life; get back to it! So Lana dies.
Lex comes back to life, and makes the decision to turn his back on his father - but this time, he also plans to kill Jonathan Kent.
This got me thinking. What would I do if I was put in this position? If I was in the same position as Lex, and chose power and money, I wouldn't ever achieve true happiness, but I would be the ruler of the world. If I chose to abandon more than a billion dollars in my life, I would attain more joy than I have ever experienced, only to have the love of my life die due to my own decisions. What would I decide once I woke up from my coma and had to make that decision?
A billion dollars. Or rather, 10.1 billion dollars. Wow.
I would love to say that I would give it up, marry Lana, and take her on holiday to Metropolis during the Christmas of her second pregnancy so that she can get immediate attention and not die.
But 10.1 billion dollars. If I had that amount in cash, and in a Malaysian bank account, I would be earning RM30.3 million a month in interest.
Edit : That's if it's RM10.1billion. If it was US10.1billion, which is what Lex is worth, I would be earning RM109 million a month
So I think you know my choice. :) I wish I was a more humane person, but if it was less than 10 million, I would definitely choose Lana :)
What would YOU do?

Phew
Changed the 30 second music to a new full length song : If I Never See Your Face Again
This post took more than 5 hours to complete, because I had to count, verify and research every single detail of the table. I'm exhausted but happy, and here it is! These are albums that sold the most in 2007, regardless of their release date or year. I'll be doing a more precise table, which will tabulate the best selling albums which were actually released in 2007 ONLY.
Oh, and it'll be much neater than this one too ;)
So, enjoy!
