Sydney Part 1

Finally...the tour. Epic read ahead :)

I'll blog about the rest of Sydney later, but on Wednesday the 26th I arranged to meet Manpreet and Rezza. My uncle said that if I could be ready to leave by 8.30 he would drop me at the train station near his office so that I could get to the city. I woke up at 7.30, got ready and downstairs at 8.30 and lo and behold he had just woken up and not even had his breakfast yet!

So he only dropped me off at the station at 9.20. Meanwhile Manpreet who had missed her bus was messaging me frantically at 9.10 apologising that she was gonna be late. In the end I reached the city at 9.50, and she was there waiting.

I didn't even recognise her at first - I was wondering who was waving. SHE LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT! My gosh. She's stick thin now! Manpreet, you looked pinched! But yeah, your mom and I have given you enough grief about that, so moving on!

Oh and by the way, something annoying happened on the train which I will dedicate a whole other post to :)

Manpreet seemed to be wanting to give me my $120 worth. She took me EVERYWHERE!

We started off at UTS - University of Technology Sydney, a 10 minute walk from Central Station. She wanted to show me where the highest population of Indian students went - don't ask, it's a joke of sorts.

Then, we walked on another 10 minutes to Paddy's Market. I remember it was closed the last time I visited Sydney as well. Geez. Paddy's Market is the equivalent to Victoria Market :)

I was wondering why the Coopers on PriceWaterHouseCoopers was so funny, ruining my picture. After a while, I realised that it had caught fire! I had watched the new a couple of days before and they showed the lights fully ablaze...hahaha! Makes me scared to work there in the future!

By this time we had begun our 20 minute walk to Cockle Bay Wharf. We got there through Tumbalong Park. I remember going there briefly the last time I visited Sydney as well :)

What's that?!

A closer look?

My future work place?

Manpreet lost direction for a bit, but it was good because we managed to walk across the bridge over the wharf, and even visit a shopping mall which was surprisingly cheap for it's location! 30 minutes after we reached, we headed to The Rocks where we were going to eat.

But not before I took a picture outside the Chinese Gardens!

The last picture is the entrance to Chinatown : smaller than Melbourne's one, I didn't go inside!

Manpreet decided to take me down the "Swanston Street of Sydney" - George Street. Sydney city is really beautiful, and it reminds me of New York in the movies. I've never been to New York so I can't say for sure, but that's the feeling I got. Really nice place :)

George Street. A 40 MINUTE WALK DOWN IT!

I'm really considering applying here (if I pass my Accounts) :

We also decided to take a whirl back into the years between 1982 to 1993.

Don't you just miss that show? Where Everybody Knows Your Name.

MELBOURNE TOWN HALL IS NICER! HAH! HAH!

If I work in Sydney, here's where your presents will be coming from. Queen Vic. No joke. Okay la, if I work in Sydney and become a multi millionaire here's where your presents will be coming from.

We finally reached the Rocks. Phew. But no, no phew. We decided to eat next to the sea. So on to Circular Quay. 15 minutes walk!

And out of respect to those of you who are students struggling with bandwidth, this post ends here. More pics in the next one :)
