A Load of Firsts

In March (okay, very very long ago) Steph took me to Dessert House for lunch. It was my first time eating there after hearing about it from a friend. We also went to Max Brenners later (Steph didn't wanna go, but she was following me to a "shop" and suddenly, "isn't this Max Brenners?!" :P)

I have no idea what that was : I ordered what she did and it was good!

The next month, one day, I was afraid I wouldn't wake up early for my law class since I had to do an assignment. Since no one lives in my apartment, I asked my closest "neighbour" - Harvey to wake me up. He said he had work at 6am the next day, so why not I just go over and sleep there. So I did! Went to sleep at 5, and when he got back at 11am he woke me up.

Later that day we met up with Sara at the National Library to do some studies. This was my first time at the National Library, but alas no, I didn't study at the National Treasure room! I studied one floor below it! But I will definitely check it out next time :) At dinner time, we went to have Ramen again! This was followed by *jeng jeng jeng* San Churros - another first!

EH SARA! THAT MEANS YOU WEAR CONTACTS AH? hahahahha :P Keat-wear ;)

Anyway, remember when I almost got killed? I met Ai Vyn for lunch that day at Ian Potter's. Oh btw, this was back when my eye was still...errr...yeah...

Anyway, Shing Yun offered me a free dinner at International House and so I accepted! First I dropped by Shun Jing's to collect a lot some shows, and then met Shing Yun and her guy friend (who's name I've forgotten sorry!) at Tin Alley. Food was pretty good, and at 8.10 she dropped me off at the tram station. She told me to get on to this tram, which we had to run across the highway to get to, and I bid her farewell!

This was the day of the MoMU pre-exam thing so I was wanting to get home fast. However, 35 minutes later I started getting freaked out. This really really fat man got on - he was so fat that his stomach was out of his jeans! I was thinking "poor guy must be so embarrased whenever he goes out in public" when suddenly he started shouting to himself in some foreign language! Insane! Then, some rowdy gangsters got on too! I was clutching my laptop for dear life and didn't dare look anyone in the eye.

Slowly the tram began to empty, and I was in a part of Melbourne I have never seen - and never want to see again. Pawn stores, tattoo parlours, seedy restaurants, weird looking people...I was shit scared. Finally there were only 3 people on the tram, me and 2 other ladies.

And there was an advertisement on board - "How to disappear and never be found". One lady was immersed in a paper, and the other (dressed very...revealingly) was just sitting normally. I decided to ask her if it was heading into the city and she said NO! To get down asap and take a tram in the opposite direction.

I did, getting off at a main road. Normally trams take at least 30 minutes to reappear in these far away places, but luckily I was right in time for the one heading to the city. However, the cars were still whizzing around and the tram was leaving soon. I DASHED ACROSS THE BUSY ROAD and ran up into the tram. Phew.

35 minutes later, I was passing the place where Shing Yun had sent me off, and 10 minutes later I was at Flinders Street station. Running late for the event! But the trams heading to the city were suspended, and we had to wait for one to come back from Melbourne Uni to take us back in that direction. Luckily Sara and Anselm (and Vyn) were not ready either, and so I didn't have to worry.

But seriously, I was so scared on that tram. My laptop was so obvious, and I was so nervous something would happen to me. Alone, and at night, in an unfamiliar dodgy neighbourhood. Phew. Thank God nothing happened.

So that's my story...HEY, I SERIOUSLY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! Hahaha! The rest of the night made me forget about it and brush off most of the jumpy nerves, so I'm glad I decided not to cancel :)

That's quite a marathon of updates! I just got back from Victoria Station and then drove past school! Ah, memories from both!

It's good to be home :)
