"In January 2008, a video of Duff apparently lip-synching at her concert in Monterrey, Mexico surfaced online. Duff's representative spoke out about the incident saying "She was not lip-synching. It was faulty equipment. There was no sound coming out, but she was singing". He also added that she was not using her regular sound equipment, but locally provided equipment and that her microphone was inadvertently set on mute for the first few minutes of the performance."
However, the mike was only off for the part where she shouted out "What's up Monterrey", and so did not affect the real performance.
For the video that started the controversy, click here. It's right at the beginning, so you won't have to watch the whole performance, but she's performing my favourite song off her album. Her UK and US tours were great, this one was just average. But hey, it's just Mexico! :P
While Hil says that she did not pull an Ashlee, her camp says the microphone was set to mute for just a few moments, and was quickly fixed, which explains why her voice started up.
She makes three more stops in Mexico before moving on to Brazil and Australia.
I was watching this meet and greet video of Hil and her fans in Mexico, and all the guys were wrapping their arms around her like she was a puppet. She's so small! But she made sure they got their pictures by asking their friends or parents "Did you get the picture?".
But, she should wear longer pants "=.=
