So, I did!

The decorations were a far cry from last years and the year before when we had our Christmas dinner. So many things were going wrong, it was like the decor ganged up together to make sure I didn't put them up :'(
First, the longest light bulb train was missing a bulb and so wouldn't light up. Then, the second light bulb train had a disconnected wire. We were left with NO LIGHTS! One set is usually used to drape over the walls, curtains etc., and one for the Christmas tree.
I was slowly becoming more agitated with the whole situation, and so my dad offered to take me to Bangsar to get new lights. Just before we left however, my mom lowered the newspaper and told me to try weld the bulb wires with my high school Living Skills welding kit.

I did it!!! IT WORKED!!! I am such a genius!

After the sweaty job was done, I was too lazy to go to Bangsar, so we decided we wouldn't decorate the walls. I draped the Christmas tree, and then headed up to my room to hang Mr Snowman on the door knob.
Raisha gifted him to me at her Christmas dinner last year.

Every year, for the last 40 to 60 years (it depends which generation you start the count from), we have a big family dinner on Christmas Eve at my ancestral home at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. This year however, the tradition was broken and we had an early dinner on the 18th. I'm the only one in my family who did not open their presents on that night itself, so the few presents under the Christmas tree made it look quite dismal.
I added presents from my friends to the sad pile in order to make myself feel better. On Christmas Eve my family took me to KL to buy my presents. I was given a budget, and was allowed to choose what I wanted.
I bought 2 Quicksilver shirts, a Calvin Klein Jeans Sweater, and a Billabong shirt. As soon as my mom payed for the stuff, I started regretting the fact that I just didn't take the cash. I don't even know if I have enough luggage weight to take the clothes Down Under. I packed them under the Christmas tree as well.
On Christmas day we went to The Ship in DU for the Christmas Menu. The Tiramisu was sweet and creamy, but not as good as Itallianies. The food was good but nothing to fuss about. It was important to me that this Christmas be perfect, and it really was. There was love, laughter, and good cheer all around. I even managed to see every single mall's Christmas decorations. At night we went to Starbucks for coffee.

So that was my Christmas day :)
On the 22nd, I attended the production by Calvary Church at Putra Stadium Bukit Jalil. When we were parking the car, I had this nagging feeling that I had been there before. It finally hit me that we had come for "Something on Ice" here. It wasn't Disney on Ice, it was something else. Even though I shared this piece of information with my mom, for the next ten minutes she was still trying to figure out when we had been there before. Sigh.
The production was great. My only two complaints are that some of the actor's pronunciations were really bad and that the sound system was blaring. One of my dad's former employees was in the production and so my dad was being unnecessarily critical. After all, my dad has the best ears in town right "=.=

So that was MY Christmas. How was yours?
