Q&A

Back at Your Door is one of my favourites off the Maroon 5 album. It's hard to pick favourites :) Enjoy!

I've actually wanted to do this for a while, but I either kept forgetting, or I just didn't have the guts! However, after Sherryn did hers, I got a boost of confidence, and so went around to some of my friends, whom I thought I could collect interesting questions from. When some of them didn't get back to me, I ended up asking whoever popped online. In the end, everyone replied, and so now I have too many!

The "Interesting Questions" section is riddled with great questions! :)

First, the basics...

Why One mug too many? - Boon
Well Boon, after going to Italy, I think you should understand! I'm sure most of you here know that I have daily cravings for coffee. I need to have my fix in order to call it a day. Infact, after I take a sip of that marvelous elixir, all my stress and burdens (even those I didn't know I had before the sip) just fall away. So, I am addicted to coffee. One mug too many refers to me having too much coffee, that it just pushes me over the edge. But in a totally good way :)

Why Australia and not the UK? - Boon
Hmmm. This is the first time a friend has asked me that. Usually they just go "Who asked you to go to Australia? Told you to come to the UK!". They never asked why. So thank you Boon :) First of all, I can't afford it. Unless of course I move my poor parents into a mud hut somewhere in the Amazon and then go. And more than that, it's too far away. If anything happens back home, Australia is less than half a day away. And also my parents reminded me that I have absolutely no relatives in England, while a whole stock of them await me in Melbourne.

Why blog? - Sherryn
I'm surprised you asked me that! But yeah, why blog? I was asked the same question yesterday; those who don't blog don't see the point. But blogging is really - for lack of a better word - fun! Not only does it help you fill your time and relieve some boredom, but it helps you let out your feelings, and fulfill that internal craving to write and write. When I'm angry, hurt or upset, translating my feelings into words acts as this supreme outlet, and I can literally feel the pain flowing out of my body through my fingertips. And besides, it's a great way to keep friends informed of your life, especially if they're overseas, or if you just rarely meet them. So, that's why! :)

How truthful are you on your blog? - Sherryn
I am extremely truthful on my blog. I rarely exaggerate, and when I do, it's just to make my ramblings more appealing or imaginable. But everything I write is true - some may be edited, but they're still true. I don't want to paint a false image of myself, because, that would mean I'm not happy being me, and living my life!

Do you have any phobias? And if so, how severe would you rate it? - Emy
I don't really have any phobias. I am slightly scared of frogs, but nothing that I can't control! And the worst thing I fear can happen to me is being ship wrecked in the middle of the ocean. Since that has quite a low possibility of happening, that's rarely thought about.

What's your biggest evil deed? - Boon
Oh boy. I'm wondering which one I should reveal :P Which one will cause the least damage? Hmmm...I think I'll have to pass on this question Boon! For the sake of my social life!

Now, the interesting ones!

Which US Presidential candidate do you support, and state 3 reasons why. - Emy
I support Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaing for the 44th Presidency of the United States of America. And no, not because her name is similar to Hilary :)

  • Hillary has more experience and more ready to step into the limelight. She was the woman behind the Bill Clinton presidency, which was arguably the most supported and popular presidency in the last 70 years. She watched and learned, and took an active role in the presidency. Being one of the most influencial lawyers in the United States, not only does she know and understand the issues at hand like the back of her hand, but she has the maturity and drive to become a fierce and able President.
  • Like Senator Obama, Hillary supports demolishing tax breaks that were established by President Bush in order to reduce the national debt, while providing tax cuts for those in need. However, she plans to use increased tax rates not only to reduce the deficit, but to help provide universal Health care and subsidized premiums for the needy, and also help fund her $110 billion a year program which requires employers to contribute to the cost of their workers health coverage.
  • Currently, the country with the closest market structure to a free trade market is the United States. Unlike her opponents, Hillary is against this. A free trade market is a market which trades goods and services irrespective of goverment restrictions and trade barriers such as taxes, quotas and legislation (Ms Kimmie would be so proud!) which leads to economic inefficiency. Furthermore, Hillary is pushing for (according to Wikipedia, 108.3%) duty on imports from Chinese manufacturers (to be more specific, candlemakers) to prevent dumping. Due to the low costs of production in China, because of low wages and cheap resources, local US candlemakers are losing out on customers because the Chinese makers are able to undercut their prices.
Okay, and also whenever Barack Obama gives a speech, it's infused with "for the blacks!", and "for the Hispanics and Latinos" and all sorts of racial aspects! Okay, we get it man! You're not Caucasian! It's so bloody annoying. Hillary doesn't mention use her gender in her speeches. You barely remember that she could be the first woman to take the Oval office, because you can see her as a real President, on power with her husband and the others. When you see Obama, you can never forget that he will be the first non-Caucasian to take office because he doesn't let you forget it.

And besides, he's technically not even an African American. He's just registered as one because his dad is Black. I would rather wait for Will Smith!

What did you feel when you knew that Dumbledore was "HAPPY"? - Boon

While many were "shocked" by the news, or rather shocked by the fact that J.K. actually threw him out of the closet, I don't think it's such a big deal that Dumbledore was gay. I had my suspicions around the 5th book, but I pushed them out of my head because it had nothing to do with the story. So when I heard the news, it didn't really affect or interest me at all. I went "Oh okay", and went on with my life.

Why are you so obsessed with Hilary when Miley is so much more cuter? - Hashie
First a piece of information for you Hashie! Miley Cyrus is a huge fan of Hilary Duff, and Hilary surprised her once during an interview (pretending to be a regular fan calling to ask a question). Miley went on to say how much she admired Hilary and how Hil had really inspired her, and how she wanted to emulate her and her career. To watch, click here!

Anyway, Hilary is hot :D Miley is too young, green, and "bippy boppy"! And she's quite inexperienced in the industry. Hilary has a great character, and has the greatest success out of any Disney Channel star in the history of the network. She's smart, funny, independant and genuine. So, that's why I like her better. I never really payed attention to Miley!

What colour are the walls of your room, and what did you realise that made you scared in your third last post? - Sherryn
OOOO! Hahaha...I love this question, simply because it's so unique! Hehehe. Well, my room walls are of two different colours. There are 5 walls - one is this exact shade of blue, 2 are this exact shade of gold, and the other 2 are a mixture of the two colours.

Of the remaining walls, one is divided between two colours by a diagonal line, and the other is mostly gold, but one corner has a steep small triangle of blue.

This is the latter wall on one half of the room. If you click on the pictue, you might notice the ceiling goes a bit lower towards the end of the picture : that ceiling beam architecturally cuts the room in half, and it is also painted gold :)

As for the second part of the question, I didn't realise people might interpret the statement differently. I was not scared because I realised something, I realised that I was scared. :) I was scared about my impending move to Melbourne!

What do you think of Chong Ian, truthfully! - Chong Ian
I think you Chong Ian has interesting vocabulary; you he makes interesting and out of the ordinary statements, which I couldn't come up with myself! I also think you'rehe's a fun person to have around because youhe makes interesting, funny conversation. And also now you're he's Mr Popular over in Imperial! However, I think that if you he doesn't know someone well enough you he can be a bit cold or sarcastic to/about them! But once you're he's past that, you're he's a great entertaining friend :)

Is there God? - Boon
I believe in God Almighty. I can testify to his existence by the way everything clicks into place when I need it the most, and all the undeserved blessings that have come my way even though I have done nothing warrant it. And look around you. How did all these things come into existence? 'Nuff said.

What do you feel is the meaning of life? - Boon
Life is the characteristic that distinguishes inorganic substances and organisms. *Snores* What did you expect?!

Any other questions will be entertained :)
